Presentation of a Lodge Apron

On Thursday, 12th June, the RWM and Bro Secretary returned from the Grand Lodge Communication in Edinburgh to visit the Johnstone Historical Society. The RWM made a presentation to the Chairman of the society, Bro. Adam Lynch of a framed 242 dress apron - a small gesture which we hope will strengthen the ties between both organisations.

The framed apron dated from the 1950's is a gift from the lodge to the society to mark the opening of the new johnstone Muesum in Morrison's supermarket.

The Museum is open to members of the general public from 10:30 am till 4 pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and in our opinion, is well worth a visit.

We at Lodge Houstoun St Johnstone would like to express our admiration at the work carried out in such a short time by the members of the society to give the people of Johnstone its own museum. It is a tremendous asset to the town of Johnstone and one which we at lodge Houstoun St Johnstone are only to happy (and humble) to contribute to.

The group picture shows Bros: Tom Linnie, Garry Forbes SM, Bro Adam Lynch - Chairman of the historical committee, our RWM Bro. Alex Stobo accompanied by the committee of the society and Bro Grant Macleod our worthy Secretary on the extreme right.
